Their adventure started in 2019, when the couple stepped out of their comfort zone and attended a Surrogacy event held by TwoDadsUK at Somerset House in London.

The highlight of the event was an inspirational surrogate from SurrogacyUK (SUK) who made a lasting impression on them with her candidness and spirit of altruism.

This experience resonated with Josh and Will, solidifying their belief in the ‘friendship first’ philosophy and making them realise that this unique journey was more than just a means to an end. It was a path full of genuine relationships and kindness.

However, the surrogacy journey wasn’t without its trials and tribulations. The couple admitted that their initial response was a mixture of confusion and awe – from deciphering a plethora of acronyms, to understanding the intricate processes of surrogacy. The couple emphasised the importance of revisiting the information, acknowledging that understanding these processes isn’t a race, but a marathon.

Indeed, it was the emotional journey that proved to be the toughest mountain to climb for Josh and Will. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions, filled with moments of doubt and frustration. But through the tears and the long drives home, they learned the importance of pacing themselves and focusing on each step rather than the end goal.
